I wouldn't say rich, the majority of all rappers out there rarely ever get heard of and end up switching professions mid-life time.

i listen to rap.
50cent is not a bad rapper, its just ppl hype him up to be like god (course he does some himself)
maybe rap does influence people badly, but when i think about it, i listen to rap. i understand what alot of them talk about is bad. i dont ever think about trying to be "gangsta" or anything like that. rap, to me, is just another form of music. the person who listens to it is the person who DECIDES for themselves what they want. they choose it, they are the one to blame if they end up killing someone or whatnot.

Just thought I'd drop a funny storry related to this wannabe. A while ago I saw an ad with this loser posing in it, holding what looked like a Glock 26c sideways and angeled down. Now I've had my share of firearms. I compete in .22 marksman compitions, hunt with a .308, and defend my home and loved one with a SIG 229 tucked away safely in a locked case. I know the proper way to handle a firearm and have experianced what would happen if you don't follow "the rules" with using one.
Looking at 50 cent holding the pistol sideways just made me laugh: If he fired that thing, it would move back with the bend of his arm, with the slide reaching it's cylce around the same time the pistol reaches his chest. The slide would be forced forward and would clamp his skin between the ejection port and slide. Talk about a purple nurple :3

Want some non-gangsta rap to listen to? Public Enemy, Arrested Development, Grandmaster Flash, De La Soul, Fugees, Outkast, Will Smith... I could go on.

wu tang clan, talib kweli, common, mos def, afu ra, a tribe called quest, the roots, krs one, vast aire, jedi mind tricks, pete rock and cl smooth, organized konfusion, jeru the damaja....i could name about fifty more rappers/groups that aren't "gangsta", and actually serve a purpose.
as a rap fan, it irks me whenever people assume that all rap is the stuff seen on tv and heard on the radios. look up any one of the rappers i mentioned above and im sure any opinion will be changed.
and yes, i do HATE 50, eminem and all that jazz

Man, I'm so disappointed. Here's this big thread about rap(which I'm not a fan of but do, however, respect)and I have seen no mention of one of the single greatest rappers of all time, MC Hammer.
Come on everybody STOP....HAMMER TYME!!!

most rappers arent ganstats their just "wanna bees" with few exceptions for example look what it did to snoop doggs carrier when he was involved in that deadly shooting with some guy no shooting= no snoop dogg as far as i care 50 cent just got lucky that the guy dint now how to shoot i mean come on 9 bullets and 50 still survived thats just pathetic i wonder how bulletproof he woudl be if someoen woudl walk up behind him and shoot him in the back of his head eminem is about the only rapper that i listen to the guy is messed up very messed up but u know some of it has to be his child hood not just rap cause rap could not have messed him up like that marilyn manson in my opinion is just a freak that probably got molested when he was a kid bottom line 99% of rappers are just gansta "wanna bees"

You don't like 50 cent. I don't like him either... but hes making a game. And that is the true essence of a video gaming lives. Otherwise you strongly dislike him and rap.
AND you called me 'someone'

Look at EMINEM for example. He's a good guy. He takes care of his kids and screens what they are listening too. And he's a rapper.
Nuff said
